šŸ”„ Candle Care: Burn Bright, Burn Wise

There’s a special kind of magic in the flicker of a wood wick. The soft crackle. The subtle glow. The warmth that fills the air like a whispered secret. But even magic needs a little structure.

So if you're lighting up one of our Scripted Scents wood wick candles, here’s your guide to keeping the burn beautiful, safe, and drama-free—just how we like it.

1. Never Leave a Flame Unwatched

We know the vibes are immaculate, but safety is the real spell here.
Always burn your candle in sight, and make sure it’s far from anything that could catch fire. That includes books, curtains, papers—basically, anything flammable. And definitely keep it out of reach of little hands and four-legged familiars.

2. Trim That Wick, Babe

Before every burn, trim your wood wick to about 1/8 inch.
A short wick makes for a cleaner flame, helps prevent soot, and keeps the crackle going strong without going wild.

3. Let It Go When It’s Low

When there’s only ¼ inch of wax left, it’s time to say goodbye.
Burning past that can overheat the jar and potentially cause it to crack. Don’t push it—your vessel deserves a peaceful retirement.

4. Keep It Breezy (But Not Too Breezy)

Burn your candle in a space with airflow, but avoid drafts.
Open windows, fans, and vents can cause uneven burning and flickering that messes with the vibe—and can be unsafe.

5. Don’t Burn for More Than 4 Hours at a Time

We know it’s tempting, but after four hours, it’s time to let your candle chill.
Blow it out, let it cool for at least two hours, then trim the wick again before relighting. Like any ritual, it needs rhythm and rest.

6. Store with Care

When you’re not burning your candle, tuck it away somewhere cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight.
Too much heat or light can dull the fragrance and fade the wax color. Keep your candle fresh for when you need it most.

7. Keep It Cute

If your jar gets smudgy or dusty, give it a quick wipe with a soft cloth (a little damp if needed).
It deserves to shine, just like you.

8. Snuff It Safely

When you extinguish your candle, make sure the flame is fully out, the wax has stopped moving, and nothing is smoking before you cover it.
Pop the lid back on to keep dust out and fragrance locked in until your next burn.

Final Word

Our wood wick candles are crafted to tell stories and stir energy, but they also come with responsibility. Whether you're setting the mood, grounding your space, or just soaking in the scent—you deserve a burn that’s beautiful and safe from start to finish.

So light with intention, and let the magic unfold.
